Because it's wool it'll shed like the dickens for a long period of time. But after you've maxed out your vacuum a couple of times it does slow down. Have had it since 2019, came back to the item page to see how much the price has changed and not a whole lot. Was sad to see the reviews so low so I'm leaving a review! It has held up extremely well under heavy traffic. No fraying at the edges or anything.
