The bag is lovely and a perfect size. It is made of wonderfully soft leather and the strap is wide enough to be comfortable. That is something I couldn't tell from the pictures. The painting is incredibly beautiful. I love the colors as well as the intricate design both back and front. I had worried that the side pockets (turquoise squares on either end) would stand out too much, but they really look good and are perfect for both my bulky keys and/or my iPhone 5 in an Otterbox case.The inside is roomy with a zipper pocket and small side pocket the right side for a mirror or pill case. There is a larger open pocket which is good, but seems to gape open a little so that when I unzip it to "stick something in" casually, I have to shift a bit to get past the open pocket to the center of the bag. I've been trying to figure out a way to add some type of closure like velcro.The only reason I did not give the purse 5 stars is because the two sides don't quite match. By that I mean the scenes are a little off. The colors, the leather, etc matches, but the pattern was not perfectly matched as it came together. I would have thought a $200 bag that is based on its artwork would at least have a seamless connection. It will always be a little thing that bugs me.Added 9/4/2016 - I wanted to update that I have used this beautiful purse as my primary since my original review and it is still a delight. The colors are vibrant, the leather softer yet still holding shape and not a single tear in the lining. I would say well worth the price.The picture doesn’t do justice to this beautiful purse. The colors are vibrant, the leather is soft, and it has lots of pockets and zippers! Don’t hesitate to buy this purse, it’s a work of art. I get lots of complimentsI have never spent this much for a purse, but I have not been able to find one that I really like until now. This purse is the perfect shape and size for what I need, the leather is high quality and very supple, and the artwork is beyond beautiful! It is way better in real life than in the picture! It has three inside pockets: one that zips and holds two prescription bottles, cards, breath mints, and a couple of other small things; one that is supposed to hold your cell phone, but my phone is a galaxy S4 and is a little too big to fit in that pocket so I'm using that pocket for miscellaneous stuff like emery boards and lip balm; and one large open pocket that I use for my phone (I put it in on its side rather than standing up). The two outside open pockets are fairly roomy, and I use one for my keys and the other for pens. The outside zipper pocket I use for my notepad and other miscellaneous paper, and this pocket is really nice because the zipper can be easily hidden. The inside of the purse holds a smallish brush and a largish checkbook wallet. With all of this, the purse is pretty full, so if you need to hold more stuff, you should probably get a bigger size. I am very happy with this purse, and I plan on buying more Anuschka!This is my second Anuschka bag. My first was a fairly small handbag that lasted a hearty 9 years. I could have gotten more miles from it but it would need work on the straps, and I needed something slightly bigger. The downside of this bag is that there really wasn't a size between the small bag and this hobo. In earnest, it's a bit big for what I really need and want, but I love the design so much and its construction that I am satisfied with it. Despite that it has two internal pockets I wish it had some sort of divider. The open space is so big that small objects swim in it and I have to fish to find them. As well, the internal pockets are made of the thin, loose lining and their contents spill into the open space very easily. The cell phone pocket is a bit outdated in that it's too small for a PDA. This is a bother unless you are satisfied with fitting it into one of the external side pockets.All-in-all it's a beautiful bag, very lightweight, and certainly roomy. I think its internal organization could be constructed better, but perhaps that will have improved when I get my next bag. Here's hoping this one lasts as long or longer than my first!I love Annushka's work. Her handbags, wallets , and items by her are beautiful. This is my favorite with the mermaid. It's a little pricey but well worth it. I highly recommend her work.Beautiful! This is my second Anuschka handbag and it does not disappoint. It is even prettier than the picture. I have had the first handbag for over five or six years and it still looks good. This new one is a larger plus I especially wanted the peacock feathers on it. It is roomy and will be a pleasure to carry. I couldn't be prouder of it than I am. I will probably put the leather conditioner on it just to keep the colors and leather in good shape. I never did on the first one. The leather is still nice and I have had very little of the paint wear off. It wore a little on my billfold but that is understandable. The first purse is still very usable if I need a smaller purse. For as long as these bags last, the price is not so high. I highly recommend this purse. It is roomy, serviceable and gorgeous. I would love other designs too!Love the colors and the size of this purse.
